Martin Figura

Martin Figura was born in Liverpool in 1956.  He works as a photographer and his has been widely published and exhibited (www.martinfigura.org.uk).  He is currently doing an MA in Writing the Visual at the Norwich School of Art and Design.  He is a member of the performance group The Joy of Six, with whom he has performed across Britain and in New York. 

He is the author of This Man’s Army, a collection of photographs (Dewi Lewis Publishing) that contained a foreword by Billy Bragg and essays by Liz Wells and Anthony Beevor.  He also wrote The Little Book of Harm (Firewater Press), a book of poetry that has been reprinted three times.  His new book of poetry, Ahem, was published by Egg Box in 2005. He has been published in an number of magazines including: Smith’s Knoll, The Rialto, Scribe, Rattapallax (USA) and Seam (forthcoming).  He is the winner of the Café Writers 2006 Poetry Prize.
