New Writing Partnership has now changed its name to Writers' Centre Norwich.

From 25th October-23rd November, Season offers three weeks of high quality writing workshops with experienced and inspiring tutors, and a final weekend, Connected, where you will be put in touch with the best of the industry and of yourself.

New Writing Season 2008 offers high quality workshops with some of the best writers and tutors around.

Featuring weekend-long Masterclasses, Daycourses, Manuscript Consultations, as well as a whole weekend’s worth of one-off events called Connected, New Writing Season 08 is for those who are serious about improving their writing and finding a way up to the next level.

Prose Fiction

Contemporary novelist Matt Thorne will host a two day workshop on how to write truly contemporary and exciting 21st Century Fiction.

Lousie Doughty will lead a Masterclass weekend on plotting and narrative structure, focusing on the architecture of writing and how to become a better critic of your own work.

Successful novelists Tahmina Anam and Joe Treasure lead a day course guiding writers through decisions on the building blocks of their first novels.

Poetry

Writers can apply to take part in Hugo Williams' (late change from Alan Jenkins) Masterclass - exploring ideas about what constitutes good poetry, and how to arrive there.

Mimi Khalvati will look at poetic forms in some depth in her Masterclass, focusing her honed eye on rhyme and repetition.

Performance poet Patience Agbabi will offer a range of practical skills on her day course on performance.

Poetry Manuscript Workshops will be available with the great Clare Pollard and James Byrne. Working together, this high energy team are bound to offer discerning insights into your work, the fruits of which you could show off at the Season Poetry Reading.

TV Drama

Oscar winning Jonathan Myerson offers insights on writing for the small screen – (those interested should sign up quickly).

One-To-One Manuscript Surgery with The Writers Practice

Our Season special offer is cut price sessions with experts from The Writers Practice. These seasoned writers offer feedback across a range of styles and genres, and offer valuable industry insights on how work can get best published.

Connected

The final weekend of New Writing Season offers sessions with Agents (from Curtis Brown, Johnson and Alcock and AP Watt), insights from international writers Erica Wagner and Giles Foden, networking, and detailed sessions on the world of gaming and wider online opportunities. Featured experts include BBC pundit Bill Thompson, writer Naomi Alderman, Penguins Digital man Jeremy Ettinghausen and Tony Cook of ABC Tales and Booktribes.com. It is a weekend bound to connect you to the best of yourself and the industry.
